What is the Welsh Government's strategy to reduce the levels of energy debt in Wales?

We have a multi-pronged approach to reducing the levels of energy debt in Wales:
- we are working with Ofgem officials to get meaningful data on the level of debt for householders in Wales
- we are encouraging households concerned about their energy bills and level of debts to contact the free Nest helpline
- our Nest advisors can direct householders through to Citizens Advice for debt management support who run an in-depth handholding service
- we also encourage householders struggling to pay their bills to contact their energy suppliers
- officials have also written to energy suppliers asking them to confirm what support they can offer their customers who are struggling to pay their bills.
