What action is the Welsh Government taking to ensure that those with immunosuppressed conditions who have experienced adverse reactions to MRNA vaccines are still able to access NHS COVID vaccinations in Wales?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care | Answered on 27/08/2024

Chapter 14a of the vaccination Greenbook recommends that anyone (including those who are immunocompromised) with a prior allergic reaction to any COVID-19 vaccines should be seen by an expert allergist. After a review of the individual’s risks and benefits of vaccination, where vaccination in indicated, they could then be vaccinated in hospital under clinical supervision.

NHS Wales will continue to follow this clinical guidance and offer vaccination to these individuals under expert supervision in a hospital setting.
