What consideration has the Welsh Government given to the Future Generations Commissioner's call to undertake a review of the skills of those who are responsible for leading and planning relating to climate change risk assessment on cultural assets in public bodies?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Culture and Social Justice, Trefnydd and Chief Whip | Answered on 02/09/2024

Prior to publication of this report, the Welsh Government had commissioned Regen to gather evidence on cultural organisations’ internal capabilities and external contributions to addressing the climate and nature emergencies. The report is currently being finalised and we will consider the recommendations for delivery with key stakeholders in the coming months.

The need to ensure appropriate skills and knowledge for practitioners is recognised in the Historic Environment and Climate Change Sector Adaptation Plan (gov.wales) produced by the Historic Environment Group’s Climate Change sub-group.
