Does the Welsh Government allow farmers on the Wales Coast Path to advertise their businesses on the Wales Coast Path website?
The Wales Coast Path (WCP) is managed by Natural Resources Wales (NRW) on behalf of the Welsh Government. This includes the Wales Coast Path website.
The WCP website does not have ‘paid for’ advertisements, nor does it generally seek to provide lists of individual services such as shops, food, and refreshment providers. Information is included about services that can help people to visit the WCP, generally by directing people to information provided and maintained by partners e.g. local authorities, tourism associations. NRW states clearly on their accommodation pages they do not endorse or recommend any individual businesses.
‘The Help with Carrying Page’ is an exception in that it does list individual, niche services that help facilitate people’s visits to the WCP (such as baggage carriage or arranging accommodation). There are significantly fewer of these types of businesses than those aimed at the general tourism market. If approached, NRW will add information about similar types of services that are not currently listed (subject to basic checks).
NRW also provide information for businesses about working with them:
Wales Coast Path / Working with us . That page also links to a business toolkit: Wales Coast Path / Business Toolkit
