Will the Welsh Government confirm whether temporary price reductions on products high in fat, sugar and salt in retailers with over 50 staff members will still be forthcoming in Wales, following the publication of the Food (Promotion and Placement) (Wales) Regulations?

The Welsh Government continues to explore options to add to the healthy food environment measures already taken forward following our Healthy Food Environment consultation in 2022. Meal deal and temporary price reduction restrictions will require future legislation which is being considered alongside other approaches to promote affordable healthy food options for everyone.
