What action is the Cabinet Secretary taking to reduce homelessness in Wales, in light of latest statistics published showing that the number of people in temporary accommodation has increased by 11 per cent?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Housing, Local Government and Planning | Answered on 22/07/2024

The Welsh Government remains committed to our long term ambition to end homelessness. Almost £220m has been invested this year alone in homelessness prevention and support services which has been protected despite the extremely challenging budgetary position. This includes over £182m for the Housing Support Grant, which is our main homelessness prevention grant.

Our Ending Homelessness Action Plan sets out the suite of measures we are taking to address homelessness in Wales, including our ambitious legislative reform.
