Has the Cabinet Secretary raised with either HM Treasury or DEFRA what the cost of delivering the Sustainable Farming Scheme would be?
The Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Constitution and Cabinet Office has regularly raised the issue of farm funding with the UK Government.
The Welsh Government does not have a budget settlement beyond 2024-25. The Chancellor of the Exchequer has confirmed that she will be setting out her fiscal plans including setting the date for the UK Budget before the UK Parliamentary summer recess.
Consideration will be given to funding previously provided by the EU through the Common Agricultural Policy as part of the discussions with the UK Government in respect of the Welsh Government’s budget settlement.
