Both I and the First Minister have had discussions with the new UK Government about Tata Steel and saving jobs in the steel industry and supply chain.
The First Minister and Prime Minister discussed this during his visit to Wales on 8 July. I met with the Secretary for State for Wales and attended a meeting between the steel trade unions and the Secretary of State for Business and Trade on 10 July. On 11 July I attended the Tata Steel UK Transition Board, along with UK Government Ministers.
I look forward to continuing those discussions and working together more closely over the coming weeks and months.
