What is the Welsh Government doing to boost workforce productivity?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Welsh Language | Answered on 11/07/2024

Our Economic Mission: Priorities for a Stronger Economy sets out our four national priority areas, which will help to deliver a more prosperous, greener and equal economy. To support delivery, I have set out five areas for which I will be undertaking Short Turnaround Reviews, to better understand the evidence around which policies will enable us to meet our Economic Mission. This includes a review on SME Productivity, which will commence from September.

Globally, skills are repeatedly found to be a major driver in boosting productivity. That is why we are continuing to focus on delivering skills and employability programmes, such as our Young Person’s Guarantee, delivering our Curriculum for Wales and our Jobs Growth Wales+ scheme.
