What assessment has the Welsh Government made of problems with access for disabled people to public transport?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for North Wales and Transport | Answered on 02/07/2024

The Disability Rights Taskforce’s Travel working group has involved those with lived experience to understand the impact of potential barriers faced by disabled people travelling in and around Wales. We are considering these findings, working across government portfolios.

We will continue to work with the Taskforce to understand how the voices of disabled people can be heard more clearly in transport policy development and service design.  There are already effective structures in place which we can build upon, including Transport for Wales’ Accessibility and Inclusion Panel and Cardiff Airport’s Passengers with Reduced Mobility and Disability Forum.
