The asset has reached the end of its economic life and the site has been allocated for housing within the local planning authority’s development plan, which we see as its future use. Officials are in advanced discussions with the local authority with regard to next steps for site. While arrangements remain in place to maintain the grounds, spending on the site is limited to keeping it secure. Allocating a disproportionate budget to structures that will be demolished would not be a good use of public funds.
