Will the Cabinet Secretary provide an update on what action they are taking to promote Welsh video games?
As we answered in WQ92723 on the 13th May 2024, we consider the games industry a priority and we are taking active strides to grow it at pace. Creative Wales supports games companies through development funding to create new IP, production funding for new titles, and support to attend overseas events. We also fund a talent development programme through Wrexham Glyndwr University and University of South Wales and are this year providing 5 Welsh businesses with fully funded places on a specialist UK wide accelerator programme focussed on making and selling games. This will support games business owners with advice on growing their business and promoting their games internationally.
