Why are dentistry and medicine students who wish to receive an NHS Wales bursary not required to commit to work in Wales for a certain period after receiving it, in contrast to other students such as those on nursing courses?

We are keen to explore options in terms of further incentivising groups not currently required to remain working in Wales following graduation, however there are complexities with our Dental and Medical graduates, who are required to undertake Foundation Training prior to their registration.

This is one of the considerations that would be included in any future public NHS Bursary Consultation.
