In March 2024 Pro Bono Economics released their report on The impact of volunteering on wages and productivity. The report identified, in addition to the personal benefit volunteering brings, across the UK there are significant economic benefits from volunteering to the wider economy by boosting productivity in volunteers' day jobs.

This research also found unemployed people who said they were currently or had volunteered, 38% had gained new skills and a third (32%) had grown in confidence.
