Will the Cabinet Secretary outline who is responsible for ensuring that motorist do not park on pavements and obstruct pedestrians' right of passage?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for North Wales and Transport | Answered on 05/06/2024

Responsibility for ensuring that motorists do not park on pavements is a complex issue, shared between local authorities and the police. They can address on-street and pavement parking through various measures, such as enforcing legislation on obstruction and dangerous parking, designating limited ‘no pavement parking’ areas through Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) or by establishing a special parking area.
