What discussions has the Welsh Government had with Natural Resources Wales and Flintshire County Council about the need for flood prevention work in Sandycroft and Pentre to be carried out as quickly as possible?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs | Answered on 30/05/2024

This year we are providing Natural Resources Wales (NRW) with £800k for construction work to benefit the communities of Sandycroft and Pentre. We are also providing Flintshire County Council with £30k to prepare a resilience plan for the community.

My officials recently met NRW and Flintshire County Council to discuss the progress of both projects. My officials have also visited Sandycroft with officials from NRW. We will continue to support both risk management authorities as they seek to address the risk of flooding to the community.
