What monitoring arrangements will be put in place to ensure local authorities are effectively facilitating cluster and network meetings for childminders, as outlined in the national childminding week statement?

As part of the response to the recommendations of the Independent Review of Childminding, local authorities, working with PACEY Cymru (the representative body for childminders in Wales), will be encouraged to facilitate cluster and network meetings for new and established childminders.

Progress will be monitored by the Childminding Recommendations Review Overview Panel who will discuss progress made against all actions being taken as a result of the Independent Review of Childminding.  Membership of the Overview Panel brings together key partners and stakeholders, including local authority representation.

I will also receive updates on progress at key points throughout the lifetime of this work and so will be closely monitoring the work being taken forward to support childminders.
