Welsh Government currently provides funding to PACEY Cymru, the representative body for childminders in Wales, to increase the provision of Welsh medium childcare. This includes specific funding of £50,000 per annum, focusing on pre-registration training and support to help increase the number of childminders seeking to offer Welsh medium provision. Welsh Government also provides funding to PACEY Cymru to support the appointment of Welsh Medium Development Officers, to work with childminders to increase their use of Welsh, or indeed to change their language of operations to Welsh.
