Will the Cabinet Secretary outline how the Welsh Government is working with Transport for Wales to keep rail services operating following extreme weather events?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for North Wales and Transport | Answered on 31/05/2024

Extreme weather events significantly impact the rail network in Wales, and it is vital that rail infrastructure is properly maintained to ensure resilience of important passenger and freight services. Transport for Wales collaborate with industry partners to reduce the impact of extreme weather events through pro-active joint service recovery plans on the Core Valley Lines. Outside of the Core Valley Lines, responsibility for rail infrastructure lies with Network Rail.
