Will the Cabinet Secretary confirm how much funding has been allocated to Pembrokeshire Coast National Park for this financial year?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Housing, Local Government and Planning | Answered on 21/05/2024

The Welsh Government provides a strategic core grant to our three National Park Authorities each year, as well as additional funding for discrete projects. In 2024-25 we are providing £3,249,433.00 in core Revenue Grant to Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority (PCNPA). This will trigger a levy from Pembrokeshire County Council equivalent to one-third of the WG grant.

We are also providing £850,000 in capital funding to PCNPA as part of the Sustainable Landscapes, Sustainable Places Fund to focus on shared capital priorities, and grant funding of up to £125,000 for PCNPA’s continued hosting of Tirweddau Cymru – the National Designated Landscapes Partnership – for a further year.

In recognition of budgetary pressures in recent years, Ministers provided PCNPA with a significant package of additional, non-consolidated, funding in 2023-24. In the case of PCNPA this amounted to £1,002,000 in revenue and £872,300 in capital.
