What consideration is the Welsh Government giving to carrying out a review of Future Wales: the National Plan 2040?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Housing, Local Government and Planning | Answered on 21/05/2024

The Welsh Government has published a paper ‘Future Wales – the national plan 2040: Monitoring and Review’ setting out how Future Wales will be monitored and reviewed. In accordance with the Planning (Wales) Act 2015, Future Wales is kept under continual review. The Act establishes 5-year review periods, the first one being February 2021 to February 2026. After the end of each review period, the Cabinet Secretary will report to the Senedd on the review findings and the next steps.
