School governors play a vital role in setting policies for their schools and challenging their senior leadership teams to ensure their effectiveness.

Guidance is provided by the Welsh Government through the school governors’ guide to the law.

Learning about climate change is mandatory in the Curriculum for Wales. The statements of what matters for the Humanities and Science and Technology Areas of Learning and Experience include explicit references to climate and the environment and apply to learners throughout their time in school.
