What discussions is the Cabinet Secretary having with Transport for Wales about ensuring their trains have accessible toilets?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for North Wales and Transport | Answered on 20/05/2024

Ensuring passengers have accessible toilets available to them when travelling with TfW is a priority for the Welsh Government. All Transport for Wales trains that are equipped with toilets on board will have at least one universal accessible toilet which are fully compliant with the Persons of Reduced Mobility regulations and requirements.

TfW are working with their accessibility and inclusion panel to finalise the design and installation plans for accessible toilets at stations across the CVL network, ensuring that passengers will never be more than 20 minutes away from a toilet during their journey. These additional facilities will be operational prior to the introduction of the new tram-train fleet and open from the start to the end of CVL services every day.
