What consideration has the Counsel General given to placing a requirement on candidates in town and community council elections to declare any membership of a political party held in the 12 months before an election, as is the case with local government elections and the proposed arrangements for Senedd elections?

Community councils are democratically elected and are our most local level of democracy. This requirement is already in place in Rule 5(3)(c) and Rule 8 of the The Local Elections (Communities) (Wales) Rules 2021, and embedded within the nomination form for community council candidates.
