What steps is the Welsh Government taking to de-risk investments and incentivise organisations to invest in the Welsh marine energy sector?
Wales is rightly proud to have one of the world’s first fully functional tidal stream research testbed at Morlais. The Welsh Government continues to support and champion Morlais and we look forward to the first devices being “in the water” next year.
The Welsh Government is working with the Welsh ports providing grants and support to derisk their investment that aims, in turn, to derisk the investment required for the development of floating offshore wind.
We also support Marine Energy Wales, who work closely with any organisation looking to invest in the Welsh marine energy sector.
