What consideration has the Welsh Government given to the use of solar radiation management technologies in Wales, including any potential public health harms which they could cause?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs | Answered on 15/05/2024

The issues raised are not devolved to Wales but are reserved to UK Government with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero acting as lead government department.  I refer you to their position paper on solar radiation management (SRM) UK government’s view on greenhouse gas removal technologies and solar radiation management - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) which states ‘The government is not deploying SRM, and has no plans to do so.’
