What steps is the Cabinet Secretary taking to incentivise private sector investment in renewable energy in Wales?
In March we published the third update of progress against the 21 recommendations of the Renewable Energy Deep Dive report which aimed to unlock renewable energy developments in Wales. These actions included working with partners to streamline the consenting processes to help de-risk the decision making process alongside actions to support the Net Zero Skills Action Plan.
On the 17 April I outlined my ambition to develop a sector deal with the renewables industry in Wales. A sector deal will clarify how we will support industry to deliver on our renewable energy targets while setting out how new investment will benefit Wales. This will mean removing barriers to retaining benefit and value in Wales and to make Wales an even more attractive place for new investment.
