Further to WQ82456 and WQ92457, will the Cabinet Secretary confirm that students must first choose Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland or England in the Oriel system, and if they are successful for one of those countries, they then choose a region within that country?

There is no difference between choosing country and region within Wales in the Oriel system, and the process used in England and Scotland.  Unless of course a candidate applies to a local vacancy that only recruits for one country.

The majority of National Recruitment processes recruit for all four nations. In this process a candidate will apply to a vacancy and preference posts in any country or region. There are a few exceptions where at the application stage candidates apply to a cohort, normally grouped as ‘England and Wales’, ‘Scotland’ or ‘Northern Ireland’. Where a candidate applies to a local vacancy this will be limited to the country and regions within that vacancy.
