What steps is the Counsel General taking to ensure that the Senedd Cymru (Electoral Candidate Lists) Bill has sufficient clarity so as not to infringe on equalities law, following correspondence from the Equality and Human Rights Commission?
Matters relating to equality and human rights law have been considered in development of the legislation. We note the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s written evidence to the Reform Bill committee. The requirements set out in the Bill would not lead to political parties or candidates being required to act unlawfully with regards to the Equality Act 2010, or any other Act.
