Will the Cabinet Secretary provide an update on the discussions she had with Hywel Dda University Health Board regarding its Targeted Intervention status?
My officials and I have regular meetings with Hywel Dda University Health Board to discuss a range of issues, including the escalation status and the actions the health board is taking to address its challenges identified.
I met the chair on 29 January as part of the chair’s review process and escalation was discussed during that meeting. I will be meeting the chair on a quarterly basis to discuss progress against the targeted intervention framework, de-escalation criteria and the chair’s objectives.
As the health board has been escalated to level four/targeted intervention under the new escalation framework, considerable scrutiny will be placed on the health board, which will include regular meetings with Welsh Government officials and the NHS Executive.
