Will the Cabinet Secretary outline whether the Welsh Government has considered providing financial support for the alterations of private homes occupied by households that include children with additional needs not covered by the Disability Facilities Grant?

Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Housing, Local Government and Planning | Answered on 17/04/2024

Welsh Government funding supports the undertaking of around 45,000 adaptations through the delivery of the Independent Living Programme, at a cost of over £60m p.a.

Of this, our local authority based ‘Enable’ programme provides £6m annually to support the provision of rapid, non means tested adaptations to private homes, helping to ensure people across Wales are able to access urgent or essential alterations, to enable them to live in safer and more accessible homes to suit their needs.
