What consideration has the Minister given to creating a night service for Cardiff buses and trains, similar to Manchester and Glasgow?
Under the current legislative model for bus services, operators will provide services on a commercial basis, although local authorities have a statutory duty to provide services they deem socially necessary services, that would not otherwise be provided. Our plans to re-regulate the bus industry will give greater public control and mean that we will be able to put the needs of passengers at the heart of the bus network.
Transport for Wales are considering if it is possible to introduce later running services on the infrastructure we own and control, taking into account the demand for services, subsidy requirements and the impact on infrastructure maintenance.
