What is the Minister doing to increase the number of jobs in the creative industries that are available in rural areas?

Creative Wales support is pan Wales, with much of our activity supporting companies based in rural and more remote areas. Many productions chose to shoot in rural areas and this is supported by our Wales Screen Service who provide location information to productions shooting in Wales. In recent months, two major productions ‘Out There’ starring Martin Clunes and the second season of ‘House of Dragon’ have filmed in rural locations across Wales, employing local freelancers. We have also supported Aria Studios on Anglesey, with the intention to bring more production into the region. It has recently been home to Bariau a Welsh language drama for S4C. Funding for businesses in rural locations has also been made available through our development funding, our skills funding and our music funding. We also provide financial support to Creative North Wales and Creative West Wales, two creative networks set up to support the creative industries in their regions.
