Were WhatsApp messages deleted from the mobile phones of any Welsh Government Ministers during maintenance by Senedd technical support teams, and if so will the Commission specify the Ministers affected?

The Senedd Commission provides Members with iPhones, as well as providing and supporting access to Microsoft 365 applications.
In April 2022, an upgrade to our security protection on Member phones was rolled out. The update in question required Members firstly to enter their Apple ID and then hand the phone to staff in the ICT Service. The phones were then ‘wiped’ and the new security build installed.
Ahead of the upgrade, Members and their offices were contacted and advised on how to back-up any data on the phone including non-supported applications. Members were also offered support to do this, if needed.
I do not propose to comment on the detail of services offered to individual Members.
