What consideration has the Minister given to figures from Y Byd ar Bedwar showing that Transport for Wales services accounted for over a million minutes of delays in 2023, making it the worst year on record since Transport for Wales took over the Wales and Borders network in 2018?

Many cancellations and delays are due to issues not within Transport for Wales’ control, with Network Rail responsible for almost half of the delays to Transport for Wales services. Transport for Wales’ rail service performance is significantly better in the first months of 2024 compared to 2023. This will continue to improve as more of the brand new trains are rolled out across all of Wales and the borders as part of our £800m investment in an entirely new fleet.
