The Curriculum for Wales’s Health and Well-being Area of Learning and Experience includes focus on physical health and how to seek help and support. The statutory guidance expects this learning to include an understanding of health conditions.
This provides wider scope and opportunity for schools to explore a range of health conditions supporting them to stay safe and healthy throughout their lives.
Aligned to this, the Science and Technology Area of Learning Experience includes learning at secondary level that develops understanding of how prevention and treatment can support natural defence systems and enhance the health of living things.
