What support is the Welsh Government offering schools to make more environmentally friendly choices in their day-to-day operation?

The Sustainable Communities for Learning programme is cross cutting and supports several sustainability policies. The Programme mandated Net Zero Carbon in Operation for all new projects in January 2022 together with an embodied carbon target. Business cases to support funding are scrutinised by cross governmental policy leads and must consider Active Travel, Community use of facilities, Environmental (Wales) Act 2016 and Well-being of Future Generations Act 2015 which all contribute to building a more environmentally friendly education estate.
