Why is the Welsh Government the last of the UK nations to announce how it is allocating it’s regional innovation funding, and what has caused this delay?

Consequential funding forms part of the Welsh Government’s reserve and is allocated in line with the needs and circumstances in Wales. Unprecedented budget pressures required careful in-year management. As soon as the fiscal situation allowed, the Minister for Finance Local Government allocated this funding for distribution to Universities in Wales.
