Further to WQ91517, will the Minister provide a specific date for the completion of all works on the South Wales Metro?

The expected completion dates of the main components of this programme include:
- CVL Transformation Programme – the majority of works are scheduled for competition in 2024.
- New Rolling Stock – Class 231s are already operating on the Rhymney Line. Class 756s are expected in summer 2024 for services to and from Treherbert, Aberdare and Merthyr Tydfil. Class 398 tram-trains are expected to enter service in 2025.
- Pay As You Go ticketing - rolled out across the South Wales Metro area throughout 2024.
- Taff’s Well Depot – expected to be completed in 2024.
- The Integrated Control Centre at Taff’s Well is now complete and operational.
