How is the Welsh Government supporting Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board to employ specialist endometriosis nurses in north Wales?

Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services | Answered on 12/03/2024

The Women’s Health Implementation Group, established in 2018, worked with Health Boards to establish specialist endometriosis nurse roles. Funding has been provided to every Health Board across Wales for dedicated Endometriosis Nurse Specialists. Each Health Board was asked to submit a bid for funding for the role, based on their local need. Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board was awarded £61,000 per annum to support the employment of two 0.6 whole time equivalent grade 7 nurses. The health board has recently confirmed that the posts are filled. We have confirmed with Health Boards that this funding is provided on a recurrent basis.
