What assessment has the Welsh Government made of the impact of the proposed 2024-25 Job Growth Wales+ contract cuts on the Young Person’s Guarantee?
I have secured an extra allocation of £10m in the final Welsh Government budget for 2024-25 to strengthen key elements of the Young Person’s Guarantee - apprenticeship and employability programmes. We are working with JGW+ contractors to identify ways of continuing to provide a high quality service to as many young people as possible whilst acknowledging that far more young people are seeking to access the programme than had originally been anticipated, reflecting continued scarring from the pandemic and the cost of living crisis.
