What is the Welsh Government doing to reduce waiting times for children in Hywel Dda University Health Board?

Within our programme for transforming and modernising planned care in Wales and reducing waiting lists I was very clear of the focus on children’s early diagnosis and treatment, and the need to reduce long waiting times.

My officials have been tracking this commitment through a subset of the national referral to treatment waiting times looking at RTT pathways related to children (0-18 years).

For Hywel Dda University Health Board while total waiting times for children’s pathways have increased by 4% comparing April 22 (4,549) to December 23 (4,740). The number of long waits over two years have improved by nearly 91%. From 383 in April 2022 to 35 end of December 23.
