What action is the Minister taking to increase the number of teachers teaching design technology?

The Welsh Government offers incentives to attract student teachers into initial teacher education with certain subject specialisms where these have been identified as a priority for the workforce.
The Welsh Government has also committed to continue our support for the Part-time PGCE and Salaried PGCE, for new student teachers in both academic year 2024/25 and academic year 2025/26. The alternative ITE routes enable those unable to undertake full-time ITE to access the teaching profession and address priority subject areas.
