Does the Minister plan to commission a report to provide options for redress for those harmed by valproate and pelvic mesh in Wales, in light of the impact of the Hughes Report in England?
I will be giving careful consideration to the Hughes Report and its recommendations to the UK Government relating to the options for financial and non-financial redress for those harmed by vaginal mesh implants and sodium valproate. I have asked officials to review the recommendations of the report alongside the other UK governments to evaluate the impact on Welsh redress processes and to ensure the best course is pursued so that affected people in Wales are not treated any differently. I therefore see no need to commission a separate report.
