What actions is the First Minster taking to promote Wales to other nations during the Six Nations?
To coincide with the Wales vs France Six Nations game, I will host a reception at Amgueddfa Cymru to conclude the Wales in France year. The event will also mark the opening of the “Art of the Selfie” exhibition, featuring Vincent Van Gogh’s Portrait Of The Artist, which is on loan from Musée d’Orsay, Paris.
Senior stakeholders involved in the Wales/France relationship will attend the reception, with representation from the regional council of Brittany, the French Embassy in the UK, and the UK Embassy in Paris. Additionally, officials are working with the WRU on engaging some of our senior French stakeholders at both the men's and women's Wales vs France games.
During the stakeholders' presence in Wales, we will take the opportunity to highlight Welsh ports, aiming to identify areas for collaboration in the marine renewable energy sector.
As regards tourism promotion, Visit Wales has been active in markets including England, Ireland and France in recent months, including activity across the Rugby World Cup last autumn, all providing a foundation for this year’s Six Nations.
