Will the Minister confirm how much the Welsh Government has provided financially to the Liver Diseases Implementation Network over the last 2 years?

The Welsh Government is committed to improving the lives of those affected by liver disease in Wales. The Liver Disease Implementation Group (LDIG) received £1million in funding in the financial year 2022-23.

During 2023 the LDIG transitioned into an Implementation Network and the NHS Executive was allocated £8 million for 2023-24 to support the work of all the clinical networks. Part of that work is establishing the means to utilise and assess funding to ensure that it is commensurate with the requirements of each network area. Within this funding, £311,000 was ringfenced for national posts to support the elimination of hepatitis B and C.
