Has the Minister met, or does the Minister plan to meet with, representatives of Swansea Bay University Health Board regarding the mistakes that led to patients waiting more than five years for surgery losing their places on the waiting list?
My officials have sought assurance through the established accountability process that the recommendations and actions from the Public Services Ombudsman Wales report have been fully implemented.
The three patients have now been treated and the health board has a clear plan in place to further reduce their long waits in orthopaedics which my officials are closely monitoring.
Through my already established accountability meetings with the Chair of the health board, I will seek any additional assurance if required.
