What action is the Welsh Government taking to educate young people about the consequences of acid attacks?
The ‘empowerment, safety, and respect’ strand of the mandatory Relationships and Sexuality education (RSE) Code supports learners to develop an understanding of the social, emotional, physical and legal nature and impact of harmful behaviours, and awareness of laws in place to protect from different forms of discrimination, violence, abuse, neglect and harassment. Learning about the impact of violence gives important opportunity for acid attacks to be considered within this learning.
We continue to work closely with stakeholders and partners to develop appropriate resources to support schools to implement this area of the curriculum.
