What is the Welsh Government doing to encourage more people to become ambulance staff?

The National Workforce Implementation Plan (NWIP) for NHS Wales outlines a series of immediate practical actions to address some of the key challenges facing our workforce. Our health workforce in Wales is now at record levels thanks to investments made in education and training, and organisations are working hard to innovate in order to meet extreme service delivery pressures and support their hardworking staff.
In the last five years training places for Ambulance Paramedics have increased by 58% (76 in 2018 to 120 in 2023).
