What discussions is the Minister having with Police and Crime Commissioners to ensure police forces are focused on creating safer streets and tackling crime?

We are proud of the partnerships we have built with the police and other criminal justice stakeholders in Wales. We work collaboratively with the united aim of keeping Welsh communities safe.  Our relationship with our partners in policing in Wales is particularly strong. I work closely with our Police and Crime Commissioners and our Police Forces and meet monthly with the designated lead PCC to discuss topics of mutual interest.

I jointly chair, with the First Minister, the Policing and Partnership Board for Wales. The Board, which meets every quarter, is an excellent example of how we work together to effect real change, providing an opportunity for policing in Wales and Welsh Government to address community safety and crime reduction in Wales.
